Prophet Adam (عليه السلام) – The First Prophet
1. Creation of Prophet Adam (عليه السلام)
Prophet Adam (عليه السلام) was the first human and the first prophet in Islam. Allah created him from clay and breathed into him His spirit. The angels were commanded to bow to Adam (عليه السلام) as a sign of respect, but Iblis (Shaytan) refused out of arrogance and was cast out of Paradise.
2. Life in Jannah and the Test
Adam (عليه السلام) and his wife Hawwa (Eve) were placed in Jannah (Paradise) and were allowed to enjoy everything except one specific tree. However, Iblis deceived them, and they ate from the forbidden tree. As a result, they were sent down to Earth.
3. Repentance and Forgiveness
After realizing their mistake, Adam (عليه السلام) and Hawwa repented sincerely. Allah accepted their repentance and taught them a special dua:
Arabic:
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Transliteration:
Rabbanaa ẓalamnaa anfusanaa wa in lam taghfir lanaa wa tarḥamnaa lanakoonanna minal-khāsireen.
English:
“Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.” (Surah Al-A’raf 7:23)
4. Life on Earth and Offspring
Adam (عليه السلام) and Hawwa were sent to Earth, where they started the human race. He was the first prophet and taught his children about Allah’s oneness and obedience.
5. Lessons from Prophet Adam (عليه السلام)
Tawbah (Repentance): Always seek Allah’s forgiveness when making mistakes.
Shaytan’s Deception: Be aware of Shaytan’s whispers and tricks.
Obedience to Allah: Follow Allah’s commands to attain success.
Prophet Idris (عليه السلام) – The Second Prophet
1. Introduction to Prophet Idris (عليه السلام)
Prophet Idris (عليه السلام) was a descendant of Adam (عليه السلام), born several generations later. He was a man of great wisdom and was granted prophethood by Allah. He is mentioned in the Quran as being truthful and elevated to a high status.
2. His Wisdom and Knowledge
Prophet Idris (عليه السلام) was known for his wisdom, patience, and devotion to Allah. He was among the first to use writing and mathematics. Allah blessed him with deep knowledge and insight, and he guided his people towards righteousness.
3. Mention in the Quran
Allah says in the Quran:
Arabic:
وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
Transliteration:
Wadhkur fi alkitabi Idreesa innahu kaana siddiqan nabiyyaa. Wa rafaʿnaahu makaanan ʿaliyyan.
English:
“And mention in the Book, Idris. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet. And We raised him to a high station.” (Surah Maryam 19:56-57)
4. His Elevated Status
Prophet Idris (عليه السلام) was granted a special place by Allah, and it is said that he was taken to the heavens before his death. His patience, piety, and knowledge made him a role model for future generations.
5. Lessons from Prophet Idris (عليه السلام)
Knowledge and Wisdom: Seeking knowledge is a noble pursuit.
Truthfulness: Always be truthful and uphold integrity.
Elevation through Righteousness: Good deeds elevate a person in the sight of Allah.
Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام) – The Third Prophet
1. Introduction to Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام)
Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام) was sent to guide his people at a time when they had turned away from Allah and indulged in idol worship. He preached for 950 years, calling them to the worship of one God.
2. The Rejection of His People
Despite his patience and perseverance, most of his people rejected his message, mocked him, and continued in their disbelief. Only a small group of followers accepted his guidance.
3. The Great Flood
Allah commanded Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام) to build a massive ark. When the flood came, the believers, along with pairs of animals, were saved in the ark while the disbelievers were drowned.
4. Prophet Nuh’s Dua for Protection
Arabic:
رَبِّ إِنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ
Transliteration:
Rabbi innee maghloobun fantasir.
English:
“My Lord, indeed I am overpowered, so help me!” (Surah Al-Qamar 54:10)
5. Prophet Nuh’s Dua for His Son
When Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام) saw his son drowning, he pleaded with Allah:
Arabic:
رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحَاكِمِينَ
Transliteration:
Rabbi inna ibnee min ahlee wa inna waʿdaka alhaqqu wa anta ahkamul hakimeen.
English:
“My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!” (Surah Hud 11:45)
However, Allah responded that his son was not of the righteous and warned against questioning divine decree.
6. Lessons from Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام)
Patience in Dawah: Continue to call people to the truth despite hardships.
Trust in Allah: Always trust Allah’s plan, even when things seem difficult.
Obedience to Allah’s Commands: Following divine guidance leads to salvation.
