English Translation: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, O Exalted, O Mighty, O Forbearing, O All-Knowing, You are my Lord, and Your knowledge is sufficient for me. What an excellent Lord is my Lord, and what an excellent sufficiency is my sufficiency. You grant victory to whom You will, and You are the Mighty, the Merciful.
We ask You for protection in our movements and stillness, in our words, desires, and thoughts, from doubts, suspicions, and delusions that veil hearts from perceiving the unseen. Indeed, the believers were tested and shaken with a severe shaking, and when the hypocrites and those with sickness in their hearts said, “Allah and His Messenger promised us nothing but delusion.” So make us steadfast, grant us victory, and subject to us this sea as You subjected the sea to Moses, the fire to Abraham, the mountains and iron to David, and the wind, demons, and jinn to Solomon.
Subject to us every sea that belongs to You in the earth and the heavens, in the dominion and the unseen, the sea of this world and the sea of the hereafter. Subject to us everything, O You in Whose hand is the dominion of everything. Kaf Ha Ya Ayn Sad (3 times).
Grant us victory, for You are the best of those who grant victory; open for us, for You are the best of those who open; forgive us, for You are the best of those who forgive; have mercy on us, for You are the best of those who show mercy; provide for us, for You are the best of providers; guide us and save us from the unjust people.
Grant us a pleasant breeze as it is in Your knowledge, and send it upon us from the treasures of Your mercy. Carry us with it in a noble manner, with safety and well-being in our religion, our worldly life, and our hereafter, for You are capable of all things.
O Allah, facilitate our affairs with comfort for our hearts and bodies, and safety and well-being in our religion and worldly life. Be our companion in our journey and a guardian for our families. Efface the faces of our enemies and immobilize them in their places so they can neither advance nor come toward us. Had We willed, We would have effaced their eyes, and they would race to the path but how could they see? Had We willed, We would have transformed them in their places, so they could neither move forward nor return.
Ya Sin. By the Wise Qur’an, indeed, you are among the messengers, on a straight path. A revelation from the Mighty, the Merciful, to warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless. The word has come true against most of them, so they do not believe. Indeed, We have placed shackles on their necks, up to their chins, so they are stiff-necked. We have placed a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them, so they cannot see.
May the faces be disgraced (3 times). And the faces submit to the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and whoever bears injustice has failed. Ta Ha, Sin, Ha Mim, Ayn Sin Qaf. He released the two seas, meeting together; between them is a barrier they do not transgress. Ha Mim (7 times). The matter has been decreed, and victory has come, so against us, they will not be helped. Ha Mim Ayn Sin Qaf, so We removed your veil, and today your sight is sharp.
Benefits of Hizbul Bahr: Hizbul Bahr, also known as the Litany of the Sea, is a powerful supplicatory dua composed by Imam Abul Hasan ash-Shadhili, a renowned Sufi scholar. Below are its key benefits:
Protection During Travel: Revealed during a sea voyage, it ensures safety during travel by sea, air, or land, protecting against accidents and dangers.
General Protection: Acts as a shield against physical and spiritual harm, including enemies, evil forces, jinn, and black magic.
Victory Over Enemies: Contains supplications to neutralize adversaries, making it effective against oppression or hostility.
Fulfillment of Needs: Helps in seeking divine assistance for legitimate worldly and spiritual needs, such as provision and success.
Spiritual Illumination: Purifies the heart, removes doubts, and enhances spiritual insight, drawing the reciter closer to Allah.
Ease in Difficult Situations: Facilitates affairs and brings comfort to the heart and body in challenging times.
Strengthening Faith: Reinforces trust in Allah’s power and mercy by invoking His attributes and recalling miracles granted to prophets.
